Window repairs

The most common problems with Windows are not closing properly, jamming, often in the locked shut position, and broken handles.

• Not closing, draughts or water leaks is normally caused by broken or worn friction hinges. We carry a stock of standard hinges and in most cases can carry out repairs on the first visit.
• Jamming shut is more likely to be a failure of the locking bar. As qualified Locksmiths we are able to use "non invasive" techniques to open windows without damage and can replace most locks from stock.
• Replacement handles can usually be replaced from stock. Wherever possible we will ensure that replacements are similar to or match the originals.

Window accessories and upgrades

Door repairs

The most common problems with double glazed doors are difficulty in closing and locking or jamming in the locked shut position.

• Problems with closing and locking are often due to a miss-alignment between the door and the frame, possibly due to wear or even poor alignment from the original installation.
  
  Most alignment problems can be cured cheaply and without the need to replace any parts. In the worst cases replacing hinges or fitting new rollers and tracks to a sliding door will give your expensive doors a new lease of life.
  
  
• Jamming shut can also be an alignment problem but is often caused by a failure of the multipoint locking mechanism.
  
  We use specialist Locksmith techniques to open doors without causing any damage. If possible we will repair faulty mechanisms but if necessary we can replace broken parts with new or upgraded ones.
  

For older doors the parts are sometimes no longer available. In these situations we can source alternative replacements and upgrade your door. Saving you hundreds of pounds over the cost of a new door.

Modernise and upgrade your doors
